Keyboard and mouse

Cellar Keeper is a mouse-first game on PC. Nearly everything you do, from pulling a bottle off the floor to dropping it on the correct shelf, is handled with the mouse, while the keyboard handles camera movement and menus. The game is playable without timed input, so nothing on the default layout asks for quick reaction presses; you can sort at your own pace.

Before your first rack, open the settings menu to review the active bindings and adjust the Camera Comfort options.

• Left Click: pick up a bottle from the floor, or place a held bottle onto an empty shelf slot.
• Right Click: add another bottle to your carried stack. Keep clicking to grab multiple bottles in one trip.
• Scroll Wheel: zoom the camera in and out to read bottle labels and check shelf slots.
• W / S and A / D: pan the camera around the cellar. Arrow keys work as an alternative.
• Esc: open the pause menu. Cellar Keeper supports Save Anytime, so you can stop mid-rack and come back later.
• Tab: open the rack overview to see which shelves still need bottles.

Mouse precision matters most here: point at a bottle, click to grab, point at the shelf, click to drop. If you are carrying multiple bottles, you keep holding all of them until you place each one.

Gamepad

Cellar Keeper has full controller support on Steam, including DualShock and DualSense controllers. The game shows the proper button prompts for the connected controller, and since there is no timed input, a pad feels natural here; you never need fast stick flicks or quick button taps.

• Left Stick: pan the camera across the cellar.
• Right Stick: rotate and tilt the view to check higher and lower shelves.
• A / Cross: pick up a bottle, or place one on an empty shelf slot.
• Right Trigger: add another bottle to your carried stack.
• Start / Options: open the pause menu and use Save Anytime.
• Shoulder Buttons: switch between the bottle collection view and the rack overview.

Try the pad if the mouse feels tiring during long sorting sessions. The camera behavior is the same in both modes, so you do not need to relearn movement when switching.

Tips and rebinding

Cellar Keeper's settings include Camera Comfort and Custom Volume Controls, both worth a stop before you start. A comfort-first camera setup makes hundreds of racks much easier on your eyes.

• Tune camera speed: if panning feels slow while you carry a full stack of 10 bottles, raise the camera speed in settings.
• Use sound to find bottles: the game supports stereo and surround sound, so bottle clinks give away their location. Adjust the volume sliders so sound effects sit above the music.
• Save before big racks: with Save Anytime, you can pause, save, and retry a placement route without losing progress.
• Check your stack before moving: after a few right-click grabs, glance at the carried count so you never leave a bottle behind.
• Remap through Steam Input: gamepad players can use Steam's controller configuration to assign any button to a different action if the default layout does not click with you.
